Cunoașterea Științifică is committed to protecting authors’ rights while facilitating open access, citation, distribution, and responsible reuse of published scholarly works.

Authors retain copyright in the works published in the journal.

By agreeing to publication, authors grant Cunoașterea Științifică and its publisher, MultiMedia Publishing, a non-exclusive right of first publication, together with the right to publish, identify, archive, preserve, index, distribute, and promote the work as part of the journal’s editorial and academic activities.

Publication License

Articles are published under the:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0)

This license permits anyone to:

  • copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
  • remix, transform, and build upon the material;
  • use the material, including for commercial purposes,

provided that the terms of the license are respected.

Users must:

  • give appropriate credit to the author;
  • acknowledge the original source of publication;
  • provide, where possible, a link to the CC BY 4.0 license;
  • indicate whether changes were made;
  • not imply that the author or the journal endorses the reuse unless such endorsement has been explicitly granted.

Authors’ Rights

Because authors retain copyright, they may, without requesting additional permission from the journal:

  • use the work in their teaching and research activities;
  • incorporate the work or parts of it into subsequent works, with appropriate citation of the original publication;
  • distribute the article to colleagues or students;
  • make the article available on personal or institutional websites;
  • deposit it in institutional, disciplinary, or general repositories;
  • distribute it through academic platforms;
  • reuse the published version in theses, books, courses, or other works of their own, provided that the original publication is properly acknowledged.

Authors are encouraged to use the official published version and to include the article DOI whenever the work is redistributed.

Rights Granted to the Journal

By publishing the article, authors grant the journal, on a non-exclusive basis, the right:

  • to publish the first official version of the work;
  • to carry out the editorial and technical preparation necessary for publication;
  • to publish the work in HTML, PDF, XML, or other editorial formats;
  • to register and administer the DOI and associated metadata;
  • to transmit metadata to Crossref, databases, indexing services, libraries, aggregators, and preservation systems;
  • to archive and preserve the work;
  • to promote and distribute the article in order to enhance its academic visibility.

These rights do not prevent authors from using or distributing their own work in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license.

Attribution of the Original Publication

When an article is reused or redistributed, the original publication must be properly acknowledged.

It is recommended that the attribution include:

  • the name(s) of the author(s);
  • the title of the article;
  • the journal title, Cunoașterea Științifică;
  • the volume, issue, and year of publication;
  • the article DOI;
  • a statement indicating the CC BY 4.0 license.

Attribution should be provided in a reasonable manner and in accordance with the academic conventions applicable to the context in which the work is reused.

Third-Party Material

The CC BY 4.0 license applied to an article does not automatically extend to third-party material included in that article when such material is subject to different rights or licensing conditions.

Images, tables, graphs, photographs, text excerpts, or other material originating from external sources may be subject to separate copyright or licensing conditions.

Authors are responsible for:

  • obtaining any permissions required;
  • complying with the conditions of applicable licenses;
  • providing appropriate attribution;
  • clearly indicating any restrictions on reuse.

Where material is not covered by the article’s CC BY 4.0 license, this must be stated clearly.

Authors’ Responsibilities

By submitting and publishing a manuscript, the corresponding author confirms, on behalf of all authors, that:

  1. the authors hold the rights necessary to publish the work or have obtained the required permissions;
  2. the work does not infringe copyright or other rights of third parties;
  3. all material originating from other sources is appropriately acknowledged;
  4. any necessary permissions have been obtained for material whose reuse is not otherwise permitted;
  5. all authors have approved publication of the work and the applicable licensing conditions.

Repository Deposit and Redistribution

Authors may deposit and distribute the published version of their article immediately after publication, without an embargo period, in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license.

Deposit is permitted, among other places, in:

  • institutional repositories;
  • disciplinary repositories;
  • general-purpose repositories;
  • personal or institutional websites;
  • academic platforms.

Authors are encouraged to retain the DOI and provide a link to the official article page.

Open Access

Cunoașterea Științifică provides immediate open access to its published articles.

Readers are not charged for accessing or downloading articles, and published works are not subject to an embargo period.

Application of this Policy

This policy on author-retained copyright and publication under the CC BY 4.0 license applies to articles published under these editorial terms.

Articles previously published under different copyright or licensing conditions remain governed by the terms applicable at the time of publication, unless otherwise expressly stated on the article page.

For each article, the copyright and licensing information displayed together with the published version should be regarded as the applicable reference for that work.
