Paul-Claudiu Cotîrleț

Associate Professor Paul Claudiu Cotîrlț – Romanian historian and politician

Paul Claudiu Cotîrlțet was born on June 21, 1988 in the city of Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (current city of Onești), Bacău County. He graduated from the Faculty of History of the University of Bucharest in 2010. He attended the master’s degree Diplomacy and Political History in the 19th-20th century between 2010 and 2012, a master’s degree taken at the same faculty. He completed his studies with the title of Doctor of History in 2017. The thesis entitled Politics, Football and Diplomacy in the Balkan Peninsula (1896-1933) represented a novelty in scientific research. He entered the Faculty of Letters of the “Vasile Alecsandri” University through a competition with the academic rank of university lecturer in 2019.

Since October 2022, he has been an associate professor at the Department of Romanian Language and Literature and Communication Sciences, Faculty of Letters of the “Vasile Alecsandri” University in the city of Bacău. In parallel, he also attended postgraduate courses at the Romanian Diplomatic Institute and the National Defense College.

As for his professional experience, he was a parliamentary advisor in several legislatures, state secretary in the Ministry of Culture, sub-prefect of Bacău County. He is currently a deputy for Neamț, a member of several parliamentary committees. He is secretary of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Chamber of Deputies.

He has presented papers and studies at several conferences, seminars and other cultural-scientific activities.
