Abstract

Winston Smith’s rebellion in “1984” implies the struggle for instinctual freedom against the conformity of totalitarian state. Orwell’s Winston Smith is the last Adam, reenacting the myth of the Fall, following his Eve into disobedience against God. Thus, the misfortunes of Winston, Orwell’s anti-hero reveal the political system of the ruling state of Oceania in 1984.

Rebeliunea în ”1984” de George Orwell

Rezumat

Rebeliunea lui Winston Smith din „1984” implică lupta pentru libertatea instinctuală împotriva conformității statului totalitar. Winston Smith al lui Orwell este ultimul Adam, reluând mitul Căderii, urmând pe Eva sa în neascultarea împotriva lui Dumnezeu. Astfel, nenorocirile lui Winston, anti-eroul lui Orwell dezvăluie sistemul politic al statului aflat la conducerea Oceaniei în 1984.
